Low-Cost Textile-to-Textile SolvoGenesis Recycling Validation at Scale

MacroCycle and Eastman Kodak will scale up MacroCycle's SolvoGenesis™ textile-to-textile (T2T) recycling process from pilot-scale (2kg/batch) trials to industrial demo scale (50-200 kg). By the end of the project, the team will convert >50 kg of polyester textile waste into PET resin, which will be used to spin commercial-grade yarn. External labs and brand partners will subsequently test the resin quality and yarn performance. Based on the demonstration, the team will also quantify the environmental and financial benefits of the process in anticipation of further process scale-up and production of commercial fabric articles with clothes manufacturers.
