Founded in 1964, the Rhode Island Marine Trades Association (RIMTA) represents all aspects of the recreational boating industry in its home state.

To carry out its mission RIMTA advocates for legislation that supports their industry, partners with businesses and educators to cultivate a skilled workforce, links members to information that gives them an edge in the marketplace, promotes their statewide industry, and creates networking opportunities so members can share ideas and even do business.
Their membership includes boat builders, manufacturers, marinas, boatyards, service providers, retail and wholesale outfits, educational institutions and other organizations.
