Fashion & Textiles Strategic Interest Group Webinar: Addressing Feedstock Challenges to Advance Textile-to-Textile Recycling
Wednesday June, 17th 2026 1:00-2:30pm EST
Webinar Overview:
Post-consumer textile waste is inherently a mixed and complex waste stream. As textile-to-textile recycling technologies advance and industry-wide goals for waste reduction and circularity accelerate, there is a growing need to transform discarded textiles into consistent, functional, and reliable feedstocks for recyclers.
This webinar will explore the latest advancements and ongoing challenges in textile sorting, pre-processing, and infrastructure development required to convert post-consumer textile waste into a competitive raw material source. Designed to spark meaningful discussion, the session will bring together perspectives on the systems, technologies, and collaborations needed to support a scalable circular textile economy.

Guest Speakers

Paschalis Alexandridis is Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (SUNY), where he has served as Materials Science & Engineering program Director and Associate Dean in the School of Engineering. Alexandridis is an expert in polymer materials and complex fluids, whose research bridges molecular organization to mesoscale structure, and translates these into processes and products that are energy-efficient and environmentally responsible. In the field of plastics and textile recycling, Alexandridis is leading projects in advanced sorting, chemical recycling, and recycling of multilayer films.
