Injection Molding of Chemically-Converted Film Grade PE & Polypropylene Secondary Feedstocks

Learn about the latest advancements in using secondary feedstock for injection molding with the REMADE project led by UMass Lowell Plastics Engineering. Discover how chemically converted film-grade polyethylene and polypropylene can be used as secondary feedstocks and the benefits of using a constant-pressure process enabled by iMFLUX. The properties of the feedstock, processing behavior, and final product quality were studied through extensive injection molding experiments and the results show the advantages of using constant pressure over traditional velocity-controlled methods.
