REMADE Academy is proud to present this webinar focusing on the chemical recycling of plastics presented by Paschalis Alexandridis, UB Distinguished Professor in the Dept. of Chemical & Biological Engineering at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (SUNY).

The annual global production of plastics has reached 1 trillion pounds, with only a small fraction of the plastics no longer in use being recycled. This leaves a lot of value on the table. The recycling of plastics can recover valuable resources, but plastics recycling is challenging.

In this webinar, the basic principles of Advanced /chemical / molecular (ACM) recycling of plastics processes are introduced. The applicability of ACM processes to specific polymeric feedstocks, the product outputs and post-processing requirements for each type of ACM recycling process, and the pros and cons of each technology are highlighted. Aspects related to the economics, life cycle assessment, and current business and regulatory landscapes of advanced /chemical / molecular recycling of plastics are discussed.
